At this point i found out that canon toolbox will not run, even with compatibility settings. i think it used to run on windows 10, but no more worky for me. per another person's tip, i installed and ran the microsoft scan app from the windows 10 store.. He said brand new canon's will not install the toolbox either. without the tool box, the scanner will not scan to pdf files, so it is basically worthless. so i am at a loss.. It was also possible to run the scanner driver properly without mf toolbox installed (we used windows fax and scan to verify). 2) the easiest way to predict whether the scanner driver was/is working is to go to devices and printers, right click on the canon mf device, and choose scanner properties..
I uninstalled all canon software, reinstalled the drivers and the mf toolbox, following the instructions to unplug the usb cord, and i still cannot scan. the mf toolbox seems to install normally, but it does not appear in my list of programs and did not create a desktop shortcut as it had always done in the past.. I installed the most recent mf toolbox software from canon and i continually get the following message: " a supported scanner is not installed." also, when i plug in the usb cord, it searches windows for the drivers and one of the drivers it looks for it can not find.. I have installed canon 9950f canoscan scanner driver [sd68-win-9000f-16_0_5-ej. exe] and canoscan toolbox 4.9 [cstbwin4932en (1).exe]. scanner driver and toolbox downloaded from canon web site. scanner driver and toolbox downloaded from canon web site..
